JULY FAVOURITES

August is almost here, so I thought it was about time to share my recent snaps and July favourites with you all :) Below you will find some of my fave beauty essentials, fashion items and other stuff that I’ve been into lately.

Beauty
I know that recommending a beauty product can be risky (we all have different exceptions and every product reacts differently with different people), but I just have to share this nail teatment with you! ;) After moving process (packing, unpacking, painting, using harsh cleaners) my hands were in terrible condition, but in two weeks of using Sally Hansen „Complete Care 7-in-1 Nail Treatment” my nails become strong, grow and actually look sooo much better! This product is very easy to use, dries quickly and you can use it as a base and top coat at the same time. I’m also in love with Sally Hansen “Miracle Gel” Nail Polish, and because a lot of you were asking on my insta story – the color I’m using is “Blacky O” nr. 460

Fashion
Satin camisole – this is one of those staples that every girl should have in her closet! I love to wear it with jeans, under oversized sweaters or cardigans, and I think it will be also great for autumn (similar here and here)

Faux-fur sandals – OK, i wasn’t a huge fan of this whole “faux-fur slipper trend”, but then I fell in love with these fuzzy little cuties (here, similar here and here) and now they’re one of my favorite summer purchases! Super neutral, comfy and they go almost with everything.

Food
Berries, watermelon…my top reasons why I love summer. I’m also obsessed with healthy „grain bowls” these days – they are super delicious and great for lunch or late dinner (recipe comming soon ;))

Audibook:
„Life in half a second: How to achieve success before it’s too late” by Matthew Michalewicz  – I have been reading (and listening) many business books (audiobooks) lately and this is probably one of the most motivational and inspirational audiobooks in the self-help and business category I’ve ever listened to! It presents the five doors (clarity, desire, belief, knowledge & action) you must walk through to achieve success in your business, but also personal life – totally recommended!

Being organized
It’s been a crazy last two months, and I have to admit that getting things done is so much easier with a well designed paper planner. I also love the idea of making „to-do” lists and creating new productivity tools for good organisation. This gorgeous and practical planner (with my name on it) is from JO & JUDY – check out the whole new rose collection here. A daily planner is another great way to keep your time organized. My favourite one (here) is also from JO & JUDY, and it’s especially useful if you have a lot of commitments throughout the day (important dates, calls, appointments, meetings etc.)

Photography/Instagram
I get a lot of comments and DMs asking me: „How to add a vintage/dusty photo effect to your instagram pictures?” – the answer is very simple – Afterlight ;)

Music
My number 1 this month:
Mura Masa feat. Christine And The Queens – Second 2 None

I’m also in love with this remix:
Chloe Black – 27 Club (Fhin Flip Remix)

So, that’s it for today :) Hope you all have a beautiful Monday!

DECORATING THE NEW APARTMENT

Mixing and matching a lot of objects and furnitures from different styles and eras takes a lot of skill, but I believe that great interior design comes from taking risks ;) I love eclectic design, even though it’s probably one of the hardest designs to pull off. Creating a comfortable apartment, a little bit eclectic and a little bit modern, full of personality, neutral colors, bohemian vibe, bold textures… that can be really tough. You guys know that I’m obsessed with home decor lately, so today I’m finally sharing with you some of my favourite interior trends and decorating essentials.

  1. Chair (here) – 2. Wall deco (here) – 3. Round mirror (here) – 4. Dining table (here)
    5. Glass / metal shelf (here) – 6. Wood sideboard (here) – 7.  Marble coffee table (here)

Because our new space is very bright and minimalistic, we decided that we want to mix wood furnitures and traditional design with some chic and modern elements. Reclaimed wood sideboard and dining table (4 and 6), antique inspired desk (13), marble coffee table (7), minimalistic shelves (5) and transparent / crystal clear chairs (14) – these are definitely my favourite statement pieces in our new apartment.

8. Boho pouf (here) – 9. Macramee (here) – 10. Wall decor (here)
11. Pineapple candle (here) – 12. Coffee table decor (here)
13. Wood / antique inspired desk (here) – 14. Transparent chair (here)

One thing that comes with every new apartment is lots of wall space. Wall art is essential in making the room more personal and filling up those empty walls, so we decided to create some gallery wall with beautiful and high-quality art prints (our favourite art and letter prints are from Fallon.co and Jo&Judy), black and white photos and other pieces of wall decor (2, 10 and 18) like rounded mirrors (3) and wall clock (16). Another essential that brings the space together is definitely a nice and comfy sofa (23) and a cotton rug (15). We also like to mix gold and silver accents (11,12 and 20) with some bohemian inspired decorations (poufs (8), pillows (19), book holders (17), macrame (9) etc.)

15. Cotton rug (here) – 16. Wall clock (here) – 17. Book stand / holder (here)
18. Photo frame (here) – 19. Pillows (here) – 20. Wall lamp (here)
21. Candle (here) – 22. Blanket (here) – 23. Sofa (here)

Decorating a living room with different furniture styles, patterns and pieces is not only fashionable, but also very fresh and unique. Choose a pattern and color that will go with your decor style and that you like, and most importantly – just have fun with it! :) So, that’s it for today :) Hope you all have a lovely day, and don’t forget to check out my Instagram for more home inspirations :)

SUNNIES

Last week I showed you a list of my minimalist wardrobe essentials, but it’s no secret, that a good accessory (bag, jewellery or belt) can easily take even the simplest outfit to the next level. A must-have summer accessory and definitely a fun statement piece that creates an unmistakable, summery look and can dress up any outfit is a good pair of sunglasses. My most favorite pair of sunglasses these days are my TIJN Eyewear sunnies (here’s a link to the sunnies I’m wearing) I really like to wear them with an all black outfit or my fave combo – blue jeans and white “boyfriend” collared button-down shirt. I love the gold frame detail and how it goes with everything. Super comfy and simple, but still very chic, totally recommended :)

Half-Up Double Knot Hairstyle

I’m super happy that my bangs have finally grown out to the length I wanted it for sooo long. Now, I’m all about simple ways to wear my hair down. I’m also obsessed with messy, beachy waves and simple twisted or braided bohemian inspired hairstyles these days. The beauty of this cute half-up double knot hairstyle is that, it takes literally less than a minute to complete – two knots, a bobby pin and you’re done! ;)

Step 1. Grab a section of hair from the front of each side of your head.

Step 2. Create a knot in the back with the two pieces of hair.

Step 3. Repeat „step 2”, and make one more knot.
Step 4. Secure the knot in place with a bobby pin.

Voilà!

LESS IS MORE

My philosophy when it comes to my personal style is about having not a super tiny wardrobe and minimal amount of clothing, but I also don’t like to collect a ton of stuff. A few weeks ago, when my hubby and I moved into our new apartment, I did a major closet clean out, because I really want to focus on getting back to the basics and having all of those timeless pieces that are staples and that I can re-wear over and over again. I’m not into having a typical „capsule wardrobe”, but I’m trying my best to keep thing as simple as possible. My aim is to have a small collection of good quality clothes that would go with a few different outfits, because one thing that seriously makes life simpler is having a solid foundation for your wardrobe :) Thats why I thought I will share with you some of my favourite „grab and go” items for summer,  just things I love to wear almost every single day and I feel perfectly comfortable wearing them.
So, my first tip for you guys is to find a really great basics and neutrals to keep in your wardrobe. You can never go wrong with a great fitting jeans and denim shorts during the summer. My all time favourite jeans and denim shorts (and I have quite a few of them ) are Levi’s and you can buy these pretty much everywhere (Urban Outfitters – here etc.) I also love jeans from COS (here), especially vintage inspired & high-waisted ones. Actually Levis, COS and Everlane (here) are my favorite places to get my basic t-shirts as well. A good quality tee is probably the most practical summer essential, you just have to try them on to figure out which style and fit you like the most (tank top, v-neck, crew neck, short or 3/4-sleeve etc.)

Comfy, summer jumpsuits are just like the best thing ever. You can find beautiful and high-quality jumpsuits and rompers at online stores like Free People (here), Club Monaco (here) or Aritzia (here), but actually i have found a great jumpsuit at H&M – super affordable, good quality (100% cotton) with some cute ruffle detail, and you guys know that I’m obsessed with stripes and I feel like stripes is something that’s super big right now, and you can find it pretty much everywhere. If you also want to wear gingham you can find it on everything at the moment too, but I definitely prefer a minimal plaid print, so I was pretty happy when I found this jumpsuit (here) at Asos a few months ago.
Another must-have for this summer is denim skirt. I have been looking for the perfect denim skirt forever and now I have finally found it in one of my favourite stores in Munich –  & Other Stories. I love this skirt so much, because it’s very simple and classy, high-waisted, without nececerry details like pearls, studs, rips and stuff like that, and it’s not to short, so this is another big plus! ;)

I can’t imagine my summer closet without oversize cotton or linen collared shirt (white and striped), silk top, basic black maxi dress (here), lightweight white blazer and off course – comfy shoes! The first pair that I think you should own are just a good pair of white, classic sneakers (Vans, Adidas or Converse). I’m also a huge fan of “old skool” Vans (here), they just go with everything and I’m wearing them almost everyday since i got them. If you like staying on trend, try to invest in a good pair of mule shoes and comfy espadrilles –  these have been popping everywhere and they sell these in so many different places (Manebi (here), & Other Stories (here), Nordstrom (here), J.Crew (here) etc.)  I just feel like in the summer it’s something you should have, especially if you’re looking something casual and comfortable at the same time.

Once you have those basics and once you have those neutral pieces in your wardrobe it’s really fun to start adding some trendy items, prints, accesories and even some pop of colour, but ALWAYS try to invest in a good quality product because this is something that’s gonna last you more than one season. Don’t get me wrong – when I say buy better quality i don’t mean for you to go on buy expensive designer clothes. I still love going on stores like Zara, Mango or even H&M, where you can find some cool pieces that not cost a fortune, especially if you don’t won’t to spent money on some trends, you think they will be popular only a couple of months. But when I was looking a perfect dress for spring and summer, I was trying to find something made with better quality materials, because I knew that I would probably wear it every day. The dress I have chosen is from & Other Stories (here), it’s very flowy, lightweight, chic and definitely one of my favourite at the moment (even though i’m not a huge fan of bright colours ;) You can also find a lot of beautiful dresses (boho-inspired, „off-shoulder” and „open back” style dresses are all the rage at the moment!) at online stores like: Faithfull (here), Reformation (here) or Revolve (here). Just try thinking about shopping for clothing the way you shop for your food and try to buy clothes made from natural materials and fabrics like cotton, linen, silk or viscose. Also don’t forget that taking care of your clothes will make you look better, help them last longer, and save you a ton of money ;)
So that’s really it guys! These are the tips and tricks I personally use when I shop for clothes, this is what keeps my wardrobe very functional, simple and practical at the same time :) Hopefully this inspired you to bring some of those basics into your wardrobe as well ;) Have a great day my loves!

WE JUST MOVED!

Hi my loves! Can’t believe it’s been 2 weeks since I wrote my last post but… WOW, what a crazy month June was! Moving from old apartment to totally different, modern space with (still kind of small, but finally our private) garden takes a lot of time, work and creativity.
